Subject: Wine at Orangewood Consulting - 12 - Event update

To our Wine Aficionados,

This is a brief message, if I can avoid rambling too much, to update you on the Duck and Decanter event on January 24 – mark your calendars now! I spent some time with Michael Reitsma today figuring out what we are going to do.  Basically, Mike and I will be there with samples of the entire Orangewood Consulting portfolio.  The price of the event is $10, which allows you to sample any or all seven of our wines.   Some superior munchies will be available from the deli side of the emporium.

Anyone can show up, pay their $10 and get to taste Orangewood Consulting Wines.  They will also be able to receive colorful information from the distributor (me) about how the Noceto winery’s dog, Boomer, nearly ripped my pants off, and how much wine we drank in Italy at 10:00a.m. at the Il Poggiolino winery.   I will also be discussing the finer points of the wines, not your actual Robert Parker style commentary; you know “Ah the color is like subtle tartan, with a nose that suggests damp parsnip with a hint of kerosene”; but  more in the style of drinking problem diagnosis such as: Symptom: Mouth is dry, feet are wet. Diagnosis: Hole in glass should be up rather than down.

Just to remind you, the wineries and wines are:

• Noceto (Amador County CA) specializing in Sangiovese wines.  1999 Sangiovese and 1998 Sangiovese Riserva
• Il Poggiolino on a little hill in Tuscany. 1995 Chianti Classico Riserva and 1995 Le Balze (Super Tuscan)
• RustRidge (Chiles Valley, CA) who also breed and train thoroughbred race horses. 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon, 1999 Zinfandel and 1999 Chardonnay

Michael is stocking all of these wines.  They will be available at the event at 10% off their already competitive prices for 6 bottles or more.

The event is at 1651 E Camelback.  The location is way, way back from Camelback.  It is south of Copenhagen imports.  Their website at www.frogandnightgown.com oops, no, it’s really www.duckanddecanter.com says ”Unless otherwise indicated, all tastings are informal & do not require reservations.
