Subject: Wine at Orangewood Consulting - 32 - News flash
To our Wine Aficionados,
Introduction
This newsletter is a reminder of the tasting events next
week. A regular newsletter around the end of the month will cover more
general topics, including the Mario day event.
Mark Rodman, from Marinda Park, is in town February 19 -
22. Mark and his wife, Belinda, started the Marinda Park Winery after 20
years of corporate life, during which they traveled and lived on 4 or 5
continents. Their first vintage was the 2001, which was released first in
Arizona in July 2002. The wines were a little young then, but with
another 8 months in the bottle they are tasting better and better. Mark
will talk about the wines and the winery to anyone who shows up to the
following events.

Chandler
Tarbell’s – 32nd Street and Camelback
Tarbell’s has the Marinda Park
Pinot Noir on their menu as one of their preferred Pinot Noirs. We are
not quite sure what format Tarbell’s want, but my guess is that Mark will be
sitting at the bar and will be happy to pour you a sample and answer any
questions about the wine and winery and how jet lagged he feels.
AZ Wine
AZ Wine does not yet carry the
Marinda Park wines. They have agreed to allow us to present and sample
the wines during their happy hour period. We will have the Chardonnay and
Pinot Noir available for sampling. Mark will talk informally and individually
to samplers. Signing bottles will also be an option - of course I will
have some wine there for AZ Wine to sell to you!
Epicurean
Epicurean, the site of the
worldwide release of the Marinda Park wines, has a more structured event
planned. The $15 cost includes samples of the 4 Marinda Park Wines
(Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot) and cheeses - I think I
heard Brie mentioned. Starting at 6:30, Mark will lead the attendees through
each wine, commenting on its characteristics and interspersing information and
anecdotes about the winery. Mark will be pleased to sign any bottle of
Marinda Park wine that you purchase.
Duck and Decanter
The Duck and Decanter has a wine
bar. Mark will be there - sounds familiar - pouring samples, talking the
talk and signing bottles.
AJ’s Chandler
This AJ’s does not have a tasting
bar, but Mark will be his charming self, talking about how his week has gone so
far, signing bottles and letting you know why you should, or should not, be
buying land South of Melbourne and starting a winery.
Cheers!
