Another month has gone by - gasp.  The weather is cooling down.  Sales are heating up.   Watch out for the date change on the Red Kangaroo event.  We will be starting to move to our new house next week, so watch out for address and phone number changes.

Events

A Taste of Jazz…Wine and Cheese - Sunday November 2, 2pm - 5pm

One of our readers (this would be Alison) asked if we could help with an event supporting her favorite charity - Assistance for Independent Living.  When the help is in the form of supplying wine and showing up to drink it, the answer is clear.  Laurie and I will be there talking the talk, walking the walk and drinking the drink.  There will be a variety of wines available for you to taste.  There are also prizes and other exciting stuff.

The event, which also includes Jazz and Cheese, is at Mesa Palms, 1418 N Country Club Drive in Mesa.  It starts at 2pm, runs to 5pm and costs $25.  Tickets are available from Alison at 602-573-1804 - she takes Visa and MasterCard.

Assistance for Independent Living provides support for those who can’t quite manage by themselves, but really don’t want to go into long-term care.

Red Kangaroo, Chandler - October 31/November 1

This is a date change from the last newsletter.  Here are the details again:  Dick and I will do our “pour the wine and shoot the breeze” act on Friday and Saturday.   Dick seems to have us nailed to Roger’s calendar for every other month.  Dick will probably be trying to get another wine selection there.  Roger should have the Kilt Lifter ale on tap by then.  For those of you who don’t like to drink on an empty stomach or need to cleanse your palate…

New Location

Sunflower - 730 S Cooper, Gilbert

Sunflower is one of those specialty grocery stores, but it has only what you need, like great bread, organic vegetables and so forth; not a lot of other fru-fru stuff you probably don’t need.  This location is opening this weekend and will have wines from Chateau Benoit, RustRidge and Marinda Park.  Almost everything you need!

Event Feedback

New Winery preview tasting - September 18

Thank you to all of you who made it to the last tasting at our current office (home).  We tasted wines from four wineries that we plan to add to our portfolio starting in December.  If you were there you know what they are - in the meantime, we’ll be keeping the names somewhat quiet until licenses and such are in place.  Suffice it to say that we all found plenty to like and enjoy.

New office location - Cave Creek

Next week we are starting our long awaited move to Cave Creek.  We will be getting our offices established including essential plumbing (Phone and Internet) right away.  Less essential plumbing (water, sewer, gas) will become available over the next few weeks; in the meantime we will be visiting our neighbors frequently.
